Girl Online by Zoe Sugg review

Girl Online is a book by one of my icons Zoe Sugg, or otherwise known as Zoella. Zoe is a vlogger, blogger and now an author. This book was written by herself and a ghost writer. 78 thousand copies of this book was sold in the first week of its release and was the fastest selling book of 2014.

This book is about a fifteen year old girl living in Brighton called Penny Porter. Penny has a secret blog where she blogs about her problems such as school, boys and these panic attacks that are controlling her life. Her family bring her away to New York where her mum is organizing a wedding. Penny has no idea that this trip is going to change her life when she meets musician Noah. Noah also has a secret that he's not telling Penny, a secret that can ruin Pennys cover and ruin her closest friendship.

When I started reading this book I felt it was very childish and it was going to be boring and drag on. But I was quick to learn that I was wrong, This book was really good and much more than I expected from Zoe. I could not put the book down, I was bringing the book to school with me and reading it instead of talking with my friends, I was bringing the book to bed with me and reading a chapter or two before going to sleep, I was bringing the book everywhere I went just in case I had a minute spare. I never expected to be as consumed into this book as I was.
The only negative points I have towards the book is that at times I felt it was being dragged out and that maybe it was a little exagerated. I also felt the story line (at parts) wasn't realistic but I suppose you never know, some girl or boy could have a similar experience.

All in all, I would give this book 3.5/5 stars and would really recommend it to readers of the age 12 and upwards.

I was given Girl Online: On Tour for Christmas and can't wait to crack into it! I am currently reading Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle.
