Anna And The French Kiss is a novel wrote by Stephanie Perkins and published in 2010. It is the first book in the trilogy. Stephanie Perkins is an international best selling author and I understand why after reading this book.
This book is about a girl called Anna, who's father send her to Paris to go to school for the year. But even though she doesn't know a word of french she finds herself making friends, including Étienne St,Clair, the gorgeous, smart and caring boy.. but ther is one problem. He's taken. And Anna might be too.. Will a year of romantic-near-misses end with the french kiss she's been waiting for?
I have been waiting to read this book for ages and I don't know why I never did. This book was really good, with the Parisian love triangle and new girl dramas. I really could not put this book down and read it in 3 days! (That's quick for me considering it there's 400 pages). I really loved the characters and actually missed them when I had finished the book. This book is definitely a book that I wish never ended.
I really connected and related to Anna and was actually quiet jealous of her at times. I really enjoyed how the book left me wondering if it was going to be a happy ending until near the end. I loved that the book didn't just stick to the whole young love topic but also explored other topics such as unfaithful friends, confusing relationships, mixed feelings towards someone etc.
The one thing I didn't enjoy was that I personally felt the book dragging on but perhaps that was because I was so eager to find out if Anna and Étienne were going to have a happy ending or not.
As you can see on my Goodreads (linked below), I marked the book 4/5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the rest in the series.
